Prescott Valley, Arizona was founded on November 1, 1978. The town was created to help with the growth of Phoenix which was experiencing a population explosion at the time. Prescott Valley is located in Yavapai County, approximately 90 miles north of Phoenix. The town has a population of just over 41,000 people and covers an area of approximately 45 square miles.
